    Clay Workshop

Learn the basics of working with clay, using a potter's wheel, and exploring various hand building techniques in a supportive studio environment with instructor and artist Gretchen Mottet.  Whether you are a beginning potter or simply want to hone your skills this is the place. 

Ages 15 to adult.

Included in the class fee are:

  • 25 lbs. of clay
  • cone 6 glazes, raku glazes
  • kiln firing - cone 6 oxidation, Raku or saggar
  • use of clay studio equipment - wheels, extruder, slab roller
  • participation in one raku firing workshop
  • 6 weeks of professional instruction
  • 4 hours per week (during the 6 week session) of open studio time to practice skills learned in class and work on longer projects.  Schedule your open studio time with us in advance so we know when to expect you.
  • small class size allows for individualized instruction.

$250

Students must provide their own set of clay working tools, which are available to purchase for $15 at Art Process Studio or your local ceramic supply store.  Additional white stoneware clay (cone 6) is sold at $9.00 per 25# bag.

A deposit of $125 is required to reserve your space. The balance is due on your first day of class.  Students may sign up to begin their 6 week session at any time or as space becomes available.  This is an open studio workshop with a maximum of 4 students at any time.
